School Uniform Help

The Foodbank will also be running a scheme to help with the cost of school uniform basics by providing vouchers to families to purchase school uniform from George at ASDA. Family Support Vouchers

At the end of July 2024, families in receipt of local Council Tax Support/Housing Benefit and/or income-based Free School Meals will receive a voucher worth £105 per eligible child. These vouchers can be spent on school uniforms among other household essentials.

Resident Advice and Support Team

Our Resident Advice and Support team can also provide you with expert guidance and support, available Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm. If you are facing cost-of-living challenges or need help navigating essential support services, then contact the team on 0161 474 2140. Or visit the online Cost-Of-Living Hub, where you can find advice on benefits and debt, support with food and energy bills, council tax payment assistance, pension credit information, and more.

School Uniform For All

We’re launching a new scheme in partnership with The Cherry Tree Project to help more families access school uniforms and achieve our climate action goals. The scheme will provide year-round support for those who need uniforms; for children at all Stockport schools and of all ages.

To help get the scheme up and running we need you to donate your pre-loved uniforms (good condition only) to:

  • Any of Stockport’s 16 libraries
  • Bredbury or Reddish Morrisons supermarkets
  • Disability Stockport, 23 High Street, Stockport, SK1 1EG
  • Age UK Stockport, Commonweal, 56 Wellington St, Stockport, SK1 3AQ
  • Stockport Signpost for Carers, The Heatons Centre, Thornfield Road, Stockport, SK4 3LD

Once we have your uniforms the new scheme will then get underway later in the year.
