How are the children grouped?
Each child belongs to a “family group”. Each group has a Key Person – the member of staff who will spend time getting to know your child and with whom you will have the opportunity to talk about your child and any aspects of nursery life
As your child grows in confidence he/she will start to get to know other members of Staff.
How are the children settled into nursery in September?
We possibly have up to 88 new children starting nursery in September. We see it as a priority to get to know each child well and spend time talking with parents.
The first few days of the Autumn Term we set aside for parents and children to visit Freshfield together and to meet and talk with your child’s family group leader.
Some children will settle at nursery very easily, whilst for others it may be more difficult and take a little longer.
For these reasons we admit the children in smaller groups for the first few weeks in September. By the last week in September every child attends on every day unless parents and staff feel this is too much at first.
