How to apply for a Nursery place
Applications are to be made online at www.stockport.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Closing date for September admissions is 31st March.
Closing date for January admissions is 31st October.
Closing date for Easter admissions is 15th February.

15 to 30 hours per week places, term time only, are available at Freshfield Nursery School. 30 hours places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see 30 hours page for further information.
Children are usually admitted to Freshfield in the September following their 3rd birthday.
Places are offered to applicants, who are resident in Stockport, in the following order:
- Children who meet the priority admission criteria.
- Children from within the relevant nursery area (see below).
- Children from outside the nursery area.
Nursery Areas
All addresses in Stockport are within the priority area of an infant or primary school. These priority areas have been grouped together to form ‘nursery areas’ and these are shown on the application form.
Sessions Available at our School from Sept 2022
2 ½ DAYS FIRST HALF OF WEEK (15 Hours)
Monday 8.30 am – 2.30 pm
Tuesday 8.30 am – 2.30 pm
Wednesday8.30 am – 11.30 am
These children will need to bring a packed lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays.
OR
2 ½ DAYS SECOND HALF OF WEEK (15 hours)
Wednesday 8.30 am to 2.30 pm
Thursday 8.30 am – 2.30 pm
Friday 8.30 am – 11.30 am
These children will need to bring a packed lunch on Wednesdays and Thursdays

30 hours places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
30 hour sessions at Freshfield are:
8.30 am to 2.30 pm Monday to Friday (5 days with a packed lunch daily)
OR
8.00 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Thursday (4 days with a packed lunch daily and includes Breakfast Club)
OR
8.00 am to 3.30 pm Tuesday to Friday (4 days with a packed lunch daily and includes Breakfast Club)
These are our normal hours offered, however if you require hours other than the above please contact the school office.
Breakfast Club and/or After School Club can still be requested, on a paid for by hour basis, on top of these 30 hours

Once you have been formally offered a 15 hours place complete and sign the contract, booking form and terms and conditions

and send this to admin@freshfield.stockport.sch.uk.
Sessions must be booked for a least one full term. The Local Authority requires parents to renew their eligibility codes on a termly basis.

- 30 hours
- Breakfast Club 8.00 am to 8.30 am daily
- Wednesday Care either 8.30 am to 12.30 pm or 11.30 am to 3.30 pm
- After School Club either 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm or 2.30 pm to 4.45 pm
Extended hours can be claimed through the 30 hours initiative or can be ‘paid for’. Please see our Charging Policy for details of costs for extended sessions. Sessions must be booked for a full half term.
Payment Methods
Payments can be made by cash/cheque/BACS or can be made via the childcare voucher scheme or Tax Free childcare. We also accept card or Paypal payments via the Parentmail app – log on details will be sent upon admission.

2 Year Old Places Admission Process

Admission to the 2 year olds is on a termly basis. Places are usually available the term following your child’s 2nd Birthday ie September, January or Easter.
Please complete the application form found on our 2 year old page and either return to school or email to admin@freshfield.stockport.sch.uk. If you are applying for an eligible for funding place we will need to see a copy of your eligibility letter.

Communication Methods with Parents
Please see below the list of apps we use to communicate with parents. We hope this helps explain
the need for school to have different apps for specific uses.
Iris Parentmail App
Used for
Sending text messages and emails to parents. This includes all starter and induction
information and reminders that have been requested by parents.
Emails with health information from the local authority.
Payments to school for extended hours, school fund, fundraising.
Online forms for safeguarding and induction information.
Absence requests forms for parents to request time off for holidays.
Surveys.
Absence communications from parents to school.
Newsletters to parents.
